5 Disney Souvenirs Free With Admission

Disney Parks Secrets

Disneyland Times Guide July 2018

They say there are only two things you can count on, death and taxes. Well if there's a third it might be that each year the cost of a Disney vacation goes up. With hotel and ticket prices constantly rising it can be difficult for families to buy merchandise as well, especially as new items consistently cost several hundreds of dollars. But Disney does include several free souvenirs with the price of admission to one of their theme parks. Here is a guide to some of the best free souvenirs found at Disney Parks around the US, in no particular order.

Theme Park Licenses

Monorail Co-Pilot License Walt Disney World

These have gone down in popularity over recent years but are still found at both Disneyland and Disney World at various transportation based attractions. Both monorails have drivers licenses, and a variety of other attractions and transportation vehicles, from trains to boats also feature these drivers licenses.

How you get one is asking a cast member at the attraction for one. Not all cast members will have one, and you are more likely to find them at some locations than others. Monorails are usually the easiest of the cards to get, whereas it is nearly impossible to get a Disney World Bus card. If a cast member does not have one though they can often point you in the right direction. These are a fun free set of souvenirs you can collect throughout your trip.

Jungle Cruise Maps

The Jungle Cruise often gives out maps of their attraction to guests. But you have to work to get this souvenir. They will usually be given out near the exit of the attraction, but cast members will only give them out to people who complete a challenge. I personally have had to make a jungle sound, dance, or tell a joke to get a map. They are usually given out for free when the ride is down though as part of the entertainment outside of the ride done by the skippers.

Fastpasses

This one is only for Disneyland. As Disneyland still partially uses an updated version of the paper Fastpass system you get a free souvenir themed after some of your favorite rides. You don't even have to give them back anymore meaning you can keep anyone you get. I have Maxpass and I still tend to pick up a paper Fastpass or two just to keep, especially when a new one comes out.

Character Autographs

Most Disney Characters sign autographs if you meet them, but what a lot of people don't know is that they will sign more than just Autograph Books. Personally, I bring a string bag with fabric markers that I get signed and I get to use it as a bag to walk around the park with at the same time. It's a way to display the autographs, especially if you have rare ones, as you walk around the park.

Maps and Times Guides

Disney puts out new maps constantly at all their parks. The maps come out monthly at Disneyland Resort and slightly less often at Walt Disney World and make great mementos of your visit to the park, and can be great to look back at and see closed attractions years later. They are freely given out in numerous locations throughout the park and sometimes they make special versions of maps, like significant anniversaries or after hours parties. If you are a frequent visitor it can be fun to see how many different maps you can collect.

So how many of these do you collect?
