Happy 25th Anniversary Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin

Roger Rabbit Car Toon Spin Disneyland

Happy 25th anniversary to one of the most unique Disney dark rides ever made, Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin.

This ride is unique at the Disney Parks for many reasons.

For one it is the last use up to the present day, (and possibly forever) of the classic Fantasyland dark ride style of attraction. This means it is filled with cartoonish sets, relatively uncomplicated animatronics and small individual ride vehicles. Many have been copied since then to other parks but this is the last original Fantasyland-style dark ride Disney designed (despite it being in Toontown). What better way to go for a ride based on a movie celebrating the early days of animation.

Second, it features one of the best queues in any ride. From featuring even minor characters from the film (Baby Herman anyone?) to numerous references to classic Disney animated features, this ride makes waiting for fun.

It is also worth noting how remarkable it is this ride got made at all. Numerous other plans were made for Roger Rabbit rides at Disney's Hollywood Studios and Disneyland Paris, but all of them were shut down due to an alleged fight between Michael Eisner and Steven Spielberg over attempted sequels, leaving this ride as the only major use of the film in any Disney Park.

Finally, this ride is so far the only dark ride at any Disney Park you can control what you look at during it. The trademark spinning of the attraction allows you control over the 360 sets that you just don't have on other dark rides.

So happy anniversary Roger Rabbit's Car Toon Spin and may you have many more at both Disneyland and Tokyo Disneyland.
