This musical is one of only 10 musicals to ever win the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. It was the 2020 winner prior to its Broadway run.

The Broadway cast of A Strange Loop includes almost all of the original Off Broadway cast, with the exception of original Usher Larry Owens being replaced by Jaquel Spivey.
