Broadway typically sees many new shows open each fall, and this year is no different, with many plays set to open for runs this fall.
Here are five plays which will be starting their Broadway runs this fall.
1. The Piano Lesson
The Piano Lesson is a new production of the classic August Wilson play with an all-star cast. Featuring Samuel L Jackson, John David Washington, and Danielle Brooks, this show features some of the biggest celebrities on Broadway this fall for its limited-time run.
2. Topdog Underdog
Topdog Underdog is a revival of the modern classic play that is led by Corey Hawkins and Yahya Abdul-Mateen II. It is set for a limited run on Broadway through January.
3. Death of a Salesmen
Death of a Salesmen is one of the most iconic plays of all time and it is set for a new Broadway revival this fall. Staring a cast of well seasoned theatre actors including Andre De Shields and Sharon D Clarke and headlined by Wendell Pierce, this is a transfer of the critically acclaimed West End production from 2019.
4. Leopoldstadt
Leopoldstadt is a new critically acclaimed play transfering to Broadway from the West End for the first time. It is a generational story following a Jewish family in the years surrounding the Holocaust that played in a sold out run prior to the shutdown in the West End. This is the first time the show will be performed in North America.
5. Ohio State Murders
Ohio State Murders is a critically acclaimed play that will be performed on Broadway for the first time this fall. Led by Aurdra McDonald in her return to Broadway.
