IllumiNations in France Disney Photo of the Week

IllumiNations Reflections of Earth Globe with France in Background

As IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth comes to an end in the next week, I could find no better time than to pay tribute to the amazing long-lasting show by featuring it as our Disney Photo of the Week.

This show premiered as part of the Millenium Celebration and ended up becoming one of the most popular and longest-lasting Disney fireworks show of all time. For a show that was designed to last for one year, this is an amazing achievement. It ended up being around longer than even the fan-favorite Wishes at the Magic Kingdom. The show will close on the eve of its 20th anniversary, making way for Epcot Forever, a temporary show, and eventually HarmonioUS, a show featuring Disney music.

It seems strange that this will no longer be a part of Epcot, as it has been a staple of the park for so long, but in a way, the park has already left this show behind. This show is a remnant of the classic  Epcot of inspiration and education and as the park changes over the next few years, this show would not fit.

We invite you once more to gather around the fire, to share the light and to share a story, in IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth.
