Weekly Rumor Update 8/16/19

It is madness in the world of Disney rumors right now. There are so many floating around and no one seems to know which ones are going to be announced because apparently, projects keep shifting. We're going to do our best in the next two weeks to keep you updated on all the rumors that could see an announcement, but there's a lot floating around and only a few projects are going to be announced.

Also, you may have noticed this if you visited the site this week, but we are starting to report on regional parks as well. We are starting with Lake Compounce but are looking to expand to other parks as well. If you want to see coverage of any local parks let us know in the comments or shoot us an email to ThemeParksAndEnteratinment@Gmail.com. We value your opinion as we try to grow the site.

Figment

Figment Animatronic With Yellow Shirt Disney World Journey Into Imagination

After years of rumors, Disney may have finally settled on a replacement for Journey Into Imagination With Figment, and it's going to be, Figment in some form. I would not be surprised to hear Dreamfinder return as well, possibly as soon as in Epcot Forever. Sources do not know if it will be announced at D23 but I am beginning to think it will be and I'll tell you why. For one, Figment's ShopDisney page was just given an upgrade similar to other popular Disney characters. Also, maintenance has been slipping on the current attraction, which would make sense if park management knows the ride is going to be closing in a few months. I don't think this is 100% going to be announced but it is certainly in the running.

Rock N Roller Coaster

We really have no clue what the replacement for this will be, but we do know it will be replaced in the next couple of years. We have even gotten two accidental confirmations of this project, one even from the New York Times.

Marvel Land

So what is this going to be at Disney California Adventure? Rumors indicate the already announced Spiderman ride will eventually be joined by another ride, the lands E-Ticket, with a show and bar opening with the ride. For D23 I would expect some new information on the Spiderman ride and a vague announcement of the show, possibly based on Doctor Strange.

International Parks

Is anything going to be announced for Disney's international parks at D23? Going on precedent, probably not. Disney typically leaves international announcements for separate international events or Disney Parks Blog posts. The one wildcard is Disneyland Paris, as this is the first D23 where Disney fully owns an international resort. We might see this resort have a larger presence at the parks starting this year, although it does have its own events for announcements. Other than that the only significant international announcement we might see is the small chance of Disney announcing a new international resort.
