New Experiences Coming to Rafiki's Planet Watch July 11th

Disney's Animal Kingdom

Rafiki Cutout from Rafiki's Planet Watch

Disney's Animal Kingdom will see some major upgrades to one of its lands this summer when it reopens after almost a year of refurbishment.

Rafiki's Planet Watch will reopen with a new exhibit themed to animation. It will teach guests about how Disney has used live animals to assist in their animated films all the way back to the time of Walt Disney, and will also see the return of the Animation Academy to Walt Disney World, this time themed on Lion King characters.

This addition joins other returning experiences like the Wildlife Express and the petting zoos. Rumors indicate this is replacing the Grandmother Willow section of Rafiki's Planet Watch, although this was not confirmed in the announcement. No word on if any of the meet and greets that used to be located in this land will return.

Fastpass+ will be offered for this experience, although I doubt it will be needed considering the location of this experience. Hopefully this will get more people to make the trek to Conservation Station as it is a really fun area that suffers from being at the back of the park.
