The Seas With Nemo and Friends

The Seas With Nemo and Friends

Epcot opened with almost no Disney characters and stayed that way for much of its history. This has started to change in the past decade. The first major example of this was in The Seas Pavilion in Future World.

The Seas was one of very few added pavilions to Epcot following it's opening. It featured a required three part ride experience to enter including a film, a simulated underwater elevator called a Hydrolator, and a ride through of the aquarium through a tunnel.

This was all converted into a single ride, The Seas With Nemo and Friends.

The theater and Hydrolators were converted into the queue space for this ride and the Seacabs were converted into the actual Nemo ride.

This ride follows the same basic story as the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage, the only other major Finding Nemo ride. Nemo is lost again and you need to find him.

You follow him through the main story points of the film including the submarine filled with sharks and the jellyfish attack.

The best part is all that remains of the Seacabs. In the finale you enter the tunnel through the aquarium and see Finding Nemo characters along with actual sea life. All of this is brought together with a song written for Finding Nemo the Musical currently playing in Animal Kingdom.

Also in this building is Turtle Talk with Crush, a chance to meet and talk with the Turtle, Crush through futuristic technology (We are in Future World)
