Lights of Winter: DIY

Lights of Winter

Light displays are a staple of holiday celebrations in many cultures. Most are bought directly from a store but it can be rather fun to create your own. In the video shown above, I created my own light arches show although the same concept can be applied to make many shapes.

What you need is PVC piping and a saw. For this, I used 1/2 inch diameter pipes as they are sturdy enough to hold a structure together but can bend enough to form shapes at the scale I needed.

This specific display is based on Epcot's Lights of Winter, a former display Disney did for the Christmas season that set music to a light display. This was uncommon at the time, especially on the scale Disney did for this production. My version is (obviously) significantly scaled down.
